This is probably my favorite book in this list. I have also bought multiple copies of this book to hand out to friends and colleagues. I can not say enough for the merits of this book. It will help you change the way you think about being rich and how to get there. Being rich is not simply about wealth. If you evaluate your desires deeply enough you may well find that what you really want is time. Time is what allows you to do the things you want to do; more time with family, less time in commuter traffic, time to take short vacations.

2. Rework – This book will challenge every single idea you have about business. If you only read one of these books make this the one. Jason Fried is one of the founders of 37Signals, the company responsible for Basecamp. I can not say enough about this book. It is short, sweet, concise and profound.

The second half of this book is all business and filled with good, actionable info written by Murray Smith.

This is one of the first business books that I ever read and really can be credited with starting the shift in my thinking towards working and earning money. He describes in detail his idea of the “Cashflow Quadrant” which breaks down people into four groups based on how they make a living. It is a very easy read and is a great starting point.
